Alan Lerner, a seasoned financial advisor and former CEO of the now-discontinued 1Macro, set out to create a mobile-first product that acts as a personal financial advisor. His vision was to help investors of all levels gain deeper insights into their diversified assets and cash flow, with better visibility and metrics to understand their portfolios right from their phones.
To build a single platform that integrates with these various sources across multiple accounts; banks, brokerage services, crypto wallets, real estate, and other platforms, consolidating all financial data in one place to give users a complete and transparent view of their portfolio.

Following a series of discovery sessions to assess the volume and types of financial data that needed to be aggregated, Beehive developed a plan to support 1Macro in selecting the right data integration partners. Beehive first created a proof of concept that tested different API providers and identified Plaid as the strongest partner to securely connect financial accounts. Through these integrations, the platform would regularly (and securely) pull and update data from banks, brokerages, and crypto wallets, consolidating it into a single, user-friendly interface. The system would also calculate key financial performance metrics like ROI, quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) growth, and year-over-year (YoY) growth, giving individual investors a clear, real-time view of their entire portfolio.

Alan received detailed documentation outlining the technical architecture, data models, and a scoped plan for the MVP’s key features. However, after evaluating the market landscape in collaboration with Beehive, 1Macro ultimately chose to discontinue the project. The decision was driven by the high level of competition from larger wealth management platforms already offering similar functionality.
