Jewish Leadership Academy (JLA) is a world-class Modern Orthodox Jewish secondary school based in Miami, Florida that is designed to develop academically driven students into capable, community-focused leaders.
The school’s existing financial aid application process was outdated and time-consuming. Applicants were required to manually complete a lengthy 100-question form, often leading to frustration and drop-off. Recognizing the poor user experience, CFO Joe Sharp aimed to modernize the system by leading the development of an automated financial analysis platform through the school’s new indexed tuition program—an initiative never before done in the secondary education space.

After weeks of analyzing the financial aid logic and requirements, Beehive developed a custom web application that streamlines the financial aid process for JLA applicants. The platform allows families to securely submit financial data either manually or through integrations with wealth assessment APIs. An AI-driven engine then automatically evaluates financial eligibility, significantly reducing manual workload and improving accuracy. On the backend, Beehive also built a secure admin dashboard for JLA’s financial aid counselors. This tool enables staff to review applicant data, add notes, and manage scholarship awards, all within a centralized, privacy-compliant system.
