AEDP, a widely recognized psychotherapy model, has helped thousands of clinicians worldwide heal trauma and alleviate emotional suffering. These therapists audiovisually record sessions, manually log findings, interventions, and results to track treatment effectiveness.
Diana Fosha, AEDP’s founder, approached Beehive with a groundbreaking vision: to create a standardized platform exploring the relationship between moment-to-moment changes in a patient’s emotional state and specific therapist interventions—something never before done at this level of detail.
AEDP, a widely recognized psychotherapy model, has helped thousands of clinicians worldwide heal trauma and alleviate emotional suffering. These therapists audiovisually record sessions, manually log findings, interventions, and results to track treatment effectiveness.
After a deep exploration, team presented Diana with a structured plan for data gathering, design, user flow, and product development. With full HIPAA compliance, the team automated the annotation process to help therapists efficiently log treatments. Then standardized data collection with a centralized dashboard, enabling extensive exploration of patient state and therapist intervention to uncover effective techniques. And finally will analyze emotional states/interventions to develop a product capable of assessing session effectiveness using quantified metrics like conversation patterns, tone, and facial expressions.
Software automatically transcribes meetings and allows users to annotate emotional states based on predetermined metrics.
Therapists are expected to use the product to upload sessions.

As the dataset grows, the next phase will map relationships between annotations and emotional experiences, generating measurable evidence of intervention effectiveness and enabling scalable patient treatment.
Bridging the world of data science and psychotherapy for emotional suffering does not appear an easy feat, nevertheless Yaron and his team were brilliant listeners and brilliant communicators, able to translate the fine points of our work into automated protocols which will allow us to tap into our data in undreamed of — but soon to be real — ways.
